This city has a long historical background demonstrating many cultural heritages from Assyrian, Hittite, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman States eras. In the downtown, you can see many monuments and mosques from Seljuk periods, castle buildings from Roman periods and several historical museums exhibiting handcrafts and sculptures from medieval time to ancient settlements in the region going back to 3000 BC.

  • You can do paragliding from Mountain Alidağı. It is just 10 kilometers away from the university campus and it takes roughly 15 minutes to reach the jumping spot by a car.



  • If you are not fond of sport activities in high altitudes like doing paragliding or skiing in the mountains, another option for you may be canoeing and rafting in Zamanti River.



  • You can have a trip to Cappadocia, which is a fantastic place with extra ordinary geological formations of chimneys. These chimneys look like sceneries of fairy tales. This place is just 65 kilometers away from the city center and it takes less than one hour to reach there.
